Anser U2 Printer Crosscare case study

Anser U2 printer used by Crosscare Ltd was founded in Ireland in late nineties, and has become a leading company in researching infantile colic in babies. Crosscare Ltd manufacture and supply a range of products including Colief infant drops (2 sizes: 7ml and 15ml vials) and also a range of Colief products, scalp oil, vitamin D drops and materni-care products worldwide.

Crosscare Ltd coding and marking requirements were simple – use by dates and batch codes etc with a good quality print for traceability purposes. Crosscare Ltd were using a laser printer offline before the products were packed. This resulted in one operator having to stand by the laser and print boxes that were required for each production run. This method was time consuming and was not cost effective.

Colin Hedley, Colief Manager at Crosscare Ltd was tasked to find a new coding and marking solution that would reduce operator time and a more cost effective way to produce a good quality print onto the Colief primary packaging. Steve Simmons, Newcode’s Senior Sales Consultant arranged a demonstration of the Anser U2 printer with Colin onsite and produced print samples to confirm the Anser U2’s print quality and adhesion.

Since installation of the Anser U2 printer, down time and cost has been significantly reduced. Also product waste on the line setups has been reduced. Once the products are manufactured and packaged, products are placed on a conveyor where the Anser U2 prints use by dates and batch codes directly on the primary packaging in real time.

Colin Hedley, Engineering Manager at Crosscare Ltd said “The Anser U2 printer is easy to use for batching any size carton. My decision to use U2 technology was based on the product and print quality and Newcode, as a trusted supplier, offered the best solution for our requirements.”

Colin highly recommends the Anser U2 printer and Newcode’s services. Colin said he will definitely consult with Newcode in the future.
